What is Discipleship Counseling?
The purpose of the GLF Discipleship Counseling Ministry is to share biblical truths in a personal way with anyone facing struggles so that the person may experience the freedom of their new identity in Christ. Based on Galatians 2:20, I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives within me; and the life which I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
What should I expect?
After an initial contact, people are paired with a discipler to begin a series of 8 to 10 one hour sessions. Each session is focused around the teaching of biblical truths in a personalized approach. Some of the biblical truths that will be discussed are identity, law & grace, forgiveness, and walking by faith. In this biblical teaching/learning process, we trust the Holy Spirit to reveal profound truths about God's unconditional love, a self-image based on the finished work of Christ, and how to walk out life by faith.
What is expected of me?
Bring a teachable attitude and a willingness to do some homework each week (reading, podcast listening, praying, writing reflections, etc).
What is the cost?
While donations are appreciated and welcome, we offer this ministry free of charge.
